Dear Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and much respect it is that I can once more enjoy the present oportunity of righting you a fiew lines in answer to your kind and much welcomed letter which I received a fiew minutes ago and I was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you was all well Well Cordelia I just came off of picket guard and I am sleepy for I have been on picket three nights out of four
Well Cordelia you stated in your letter that Biley said that mother said / I had boroughed ten dollars of Alexander but that is not so for I did not se him he died about seven or eight days before I went to Vicks Burg and I will send you a note of his death that his orderley sargeant gave me that will prove to that his money and clothes were all sent home buy his Lieutenant But I have got a likenes that a young lady had sent him that he did not get until after he was dead Well Cordelia tell them sweet little girls that I am going / to send each of them a right nice finger ring just as soon as I can get them made well Cordelia I have not mutch to right so I shall close my letter buy telling you that I am well and I hope when those fiew lines comes to hand they will find you and them sweet little girls in the enjoyment of good health so nothing more but I remain your Beloved Companion
