Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the present oportunity of righting you a fiew lines in answer to your kind and mutch welcomed letter whitch I received about one hour ago and I was glad to hear from you But sorey to hear that you had sutch a hard way of getting along and was very sorey to hear that you have not received that ten dollars that I sent you in that letter but I am very fraid that it is lost / David Lewis started ten dollars home in a letter about the same time that I sent mine and he said that it has not got home yet and I sent you fifteen dollars to Jessey but I sent that buy express But I hope you will get that if you dont get the other what money I sent to you in letters and buy express all together amounted to thirty dollars I have a receipt for what I sent buy express

Well Cordelia if I was the same kind of a man that F Hawk is I expect that I could sent you fifty dollars / well I well tell you how he got some of his money but you must keep it your self just a fiew days before he sent his money home he stole twelve dollars from a women and if a man is mean enough to steel money from a women he is mean enough to do aney thing But I want you to keep it to your self he always has plenty but I cant tell where he gets it and there is more in the Companey just like him well Cordelia I just came in off of picket this morning and it rained all day yesterday and last night / and my blanket was so wet that I could ring the water out of it and this morning it comensed snoing But it is nothing to stand guard 24 hours in the rain after one gets use to it Well I think Samuel had better stade at home I want you to right and tell me what regiment he has enlisted in and let me no whether you have got them ear bobs that I sent to the little girls yet Well Cordelia I got them cans of butter and peaches that you sent me and it tasted better than aney thing that I have had since I left home
