Dear Beloved Wife I received your kind letter but you canot imagin how I felt when I herd how Father uses you and the way he talks about me But I dont make a practice of talking about him behind his back but if ever this war comes to an end and I should ever be permitted to return home I dont think that I shall ever put myself very mutch out of the way to go to see him nor I dont think that I shall stay in adams County very long for the furder we live from our friends the better we will be off I hope you / will can find some way of getting along until the I get home and then I think we had better go where they cant hear tell of us I expect that the old man thinks that I spend my money fulishley but I care not what he thinks I have never spent one dollar but what I needid it I spent right smart of money last spring when I was sick for things that I could not do with out but as for him keeping the children I dont think that we ever ast him to keep them mor the old man I guess has forgot the rails that I made for him and the work that I done on that clearing the fall that we was maried that he never said aney thing about But I shall recolect him after this I dont want you to think hard of this but right soon
