Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of righting you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well and I hope when those fiew lines comes to hand they will find you and all the rest of the rest of the friends in good health
well Cordelia we got back to Vicksburg on friday / and there was some tierd boys we had a march of about 4 hundred miles we went from hear to Big Black river and from their to Jackson and from their to Brandon and from their to HillsBoro and from their to Decatur and from their to Meridian and their we stoped but the rebs evacuated the place before we got their but we tore up the railroad for them and then turned around and started back we / we had some of our boys taken prisners that was out foraging george riley out of our Co and Wash Kern and David Esecs of Co H was taken prisners well Cordelia I got your likenes yesterday and I think it look very nice you are look a good deel fleshier than you do in the other one I will send you the old likenes just as soon as I get a chance
Well Cordelia I have not time to right mutch this time for the Chaplain is ready to take the mail to town but I will right you another in a fiew days right and let me no whether you got my likenes and that money yet so no more at preasant But I still remain your Beloved Companion
