Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of righting you a fiew lines to let you no that I am well and hope those fiew lines may find you and the children in the enjoyment of good health I have not time to right but a fiew lines for the chaplain is around taking the letters now and we did not no that there would be aney chance of sending letters til / about 15 minutes ago so you must excuse this short letter we are between Alexandra and Shrieves Port on red river awating orders I dont think that we will lay hear long we are about fifty miles further up the river than what we was when I rote to you last Well I must quit for the Chaplain is waiting so no more at preasant
