Dear Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of righting you a fiew lines for your sadisfaction we are still at Vicks Burg yet But we are still looking for orders to go on board the boats every minute and I dont care how soon we get orders to go for I would like to get back up the river We are laying right out in a ploud field and right in the hot sun and dust through the day and in the open air at night that is the way we have had to do for the last four months and I would like to get where we could rest a while in camp
Well Cordelia when you right to me Direct your letters to memphis for I think that we will start from hear in the course of a day or to our regiment looks very hard and the most of the boys feels about as hard as they look for they have seen midling hard times for the last four months and we have marched severel hundred hundred miles well I started a letter to Levi this morning and I am going to start one to Samuel and one to Albert tomorow I have not had any chance to right with aney sadisfaction since we left memphis until now well I must close buy telling you that I am well and I hope those fiew lines may find you and the little girls in the enjoyment of good health I still remain your Beloved Companion
