Dear Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of right righting you a fiew lines to let you no that I am not very well I have the diare some and I have but little use of myself and the doctor says that it is the spinal affection they have ben putting medison on my back until it is all very sore but I am still running around But I hope when those fiew lines reaches you they will find you and the children in the enjoyment of good health
Well we are still at Vicks Burg yet and I have not had aney letter from you since we landed hear and I think the time very long to hear from you I think they are stoping our mail at Memphis and I wish they would send us on up to memphis but for I would like to get a letter from you the weather hear is awful hot and dry there is a good maney sick hear with the diare but none of them very bad we drew some clothing yesterday and we needed them for the 89 had some raged boys when we got back hear / But we have not drawn aney pay yet and I cant tell whether we will get our pay hear or whether we will have to wait until we get to memphis Cordelia I wish I was at home I think that I could spend the time with mutch more sadisfaction But I am not quite as good as some that has ben sent home on furlough I dont think that I will try to get a furlough until my time is out and then they may kiss my a....

Well Cordelia I have not had any chance to finish my letter till now now / But I thought I would finish it this morning I am not very well we landed hear yesterday morning and laid on the boat until 10 clock and then we was marched out about 2 miles from town on the old hernando plank road where we are now in camp But I dont no how long we will stay hear we have not drawed our pay yet but I think that we will get it in a fiew days and just as soon as we get it I will send you some money
well Cordelia I cant right mutch this morning but I will right another in a day or to and then I will right more so no more at preasant but I still remain your Beloved
