Dear Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of righting you a fiew lines to let you know that I have got about well and I hope when those fiew lines comes to hand they will find you in the enjoyment of good health Well Cordelia we are at Lagrange yet we had marching orders last night but this morning it was countermanded and we did not go nor I cant tell when we will go well Cordelia I am going to wait until tomorow until I finish my letter then I will tell you how I spent my fourth and I want to no how you spent your forth 
 
            Well Cordelia this is the 5th of July and I thought I would tell you how I spent the 4 I spent a good part of the day in the shade and the balance of the day I spent cooking and eating and studying about home and what you and them sweet little children was doing well Cordelia we have ben under marching orders since last night with about fifteen or twenty days rations but I cant tell where we are to go to yet but I dont think that we will march very far and I thought I would finish my letter before we leave hear when you right Direct your letters to memphis and they will come right to me they will folow the regiment right along 
 
the troops hear saluted the 4th yesterday buy firing the canon about 20 times it sounds kind of naturel to hear the canon fired some of the troops are mooving out now and I expect that we will have to moove in a fiew minutes so I shall have to quit so nothing more at preasant but I still remain your Dear Affectionate
