Dear Beloved Wife With the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of righting you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well and I hope when those fiew lines comes to hand they will find you and them sweet little girls in the enjoyment of good health. Well Cordelia Well we are at Memphis yet but it is hard to tell how long we will stay hear there is troops leaving hear every day and the 2 Brigade of our division / left this morning but where they are going is more than I can tell But I shant finish my letter until this evening and buy that time we may have some orders for we are looking for orders every minute so I will stop righting til evening
Well Cordelia about one hour ago we got orders to have our knapsacks packed up and redy to take to town to store away agin six oclock tomorrow we are not agoing to take our knapsacks this time I think that we will go from hear to Lagrange again but I cant tell where we will go from their / nor I cant tell how long we will be gone Cordelia I want you to right as often as you can for I cant right very often when we are out on sutch raids and when we get away from the river or railroad we cant right atol now I hope you will right often and I will right every chance I can get Cordelia I wish I could get a furlough this fall but I dont no whether there will be aney chance of getting a furlough this fall But if I can get one I if there is aney chance I will try and get one and come home to see you and them little children /
Well Cordelia I must quit righting for this time so nothing more at preasant but I still remain your Beloved Companion
