Dear Beloved Wife with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the preasant oportunity of righting you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well and I hope when those fiew lines comes to hand they may find you in the enjoyment of good health
Well Cordelia we left St Louis on the morning of the 25th and we are now within about four miles of Cairo we are on board the Steemer America we will be apt to stop at Cairo but I dont think that we will lay their very long / the talk is that we are going up the Cumberlan river and I thought I would right you a fiew lines and have it ready to mail at Cairo But if we lay at Cairo aney let length of time I will right you another letter
Well Cordelia I must quit righting for this time for the mail is going out just as soon as the boat lands and they are blowing now so nothing more but I still remain your
