Dear Beloved Wife
with the greatest of pleasure and mutch respect it is that I can once more enjoy the privilige of righting you a fiew lines in answer to your kind and mutch welcomed letter whitch I received day before yesterday But I have not had time to answer it until now and I am righting this while I am on picket we can see the rebel picket from hear very plain but we have not had aney fighting hear yet Well Cordelia I had the privilige of spending about a half a day with Samuel and Albert yesterday / the boys are both well and harty they are onley camped about a half a mile from us now but how long they will remain their is more than I can tell I think that if old Hood dont make an atack soon we will have to make an atack on him But I would sooner that he would make an atack on our lines but if we have to atack him he will get himself completeley whailed Well Cordelia I was glad to hear that you was all well but I was sorey to hear that the baby had got so badley burnt but I hope she is getting better Well Cordelia it has ben very cold hear for / a fiew days but I expect it has ben mutch colder their but I have Cordelia you have not ben absent from my mind Oh I wish that I was at home with you this winter but we onley have about 8 months to spend in the survice yet and I am very glad of it
Well Cordelia I was very sorey to hear that Father health was so poor Well Cordelia I cant send this letter out until tomorow and I will quit righting and finish it in the morning after we go into camp I think that I will get to see Brother Samuel and Albert tonight so good buy for tonight
