My Dear Brother
Your letter of the 15th was received by the last mail & was a joyfull surprise for me as I thought from the coldness of our parting that you were offended with me for my obstinacy in comeing home with you, but even the thought of your being offended has not prevented my blessing my the kind fate that made me come as Fannie did not get home untill last thursday. I have enjoyed my self considerably at the several dances that have been given since you left my only regret was that you were not with me. tonight we are to have a dance here the last I presume I shall have the opportunity of enjoying during the war as the soldiers all leave tomorrow

I sent your clothing by "Bill" & trust you have ere this received them the Regt had left before he arrived in Mobile but he left the carpet bag with Mrs Walker who promised to have the Capt take it down to you. Send me Lizzie's directions Mr Heampstead says he will take Fannie & I to Mobile sometime soon & as you will not be thare to blush at my greenness & also to take me to Mrs S's I think you had better write how I shall find the place. I wish you to send me a copy of Macaria & some small sheet writeing paper I have not a piece of paper as you may conclude by the specimen on which I now try to write. I had a short "note" from Jennie a few days since & had hoped to have been able to give her the kisses you sent but I now shall have to wait untill some kind opportunity offers She (Jennie) speaks of going to Mobile the first of June & there I trust you will see her She seemed very anxious for me to accompany her but the presant state of my wardrobe would not permit me to think of it. Maj Pullen did not forget his promise but I must say that I have not permited him to do so even had he been so inclined / every time I have met him (which is almost daily) I have reminded him of it. he is very much of a gentleman but quite too suseptible to the tender passion haveing been in love thirty times I have his own account of the fuel I shall entrust this to his care.

Brother you should compel Will to write to his Mother at least once a week it is his duty to do so & I think yours also to see that he does it. Mama feels hurt at this negligence for in spite of his many faults she loves him best of all Make him remember his duty in this will you not.

I must now close God forever bless you my Dearest
Brother ever prays Your Affectionate
Little "Sis"

Give lots of love to Lizzie
