Dear Ari,
I arrived home here to camp this Friday afternon about half past 2 oclock all safe and sound but am reather tired. I thought you would like to hear from me as soon as possible, so I would try and write a few lines if I was tired. we had a much pleasanter trip home or reather away from home then we did going home we left Boston at 4 oclock tuesday afternon so you can see how long we were coming. Ari I did hate to leave you as bad as you hated to have me if I did scold at you / up to Concord. but Ari let it all go and dont think anything about it. that is if you can. if you had scolded me as I did you, I dont know as I should ever forget it, but you are a great deal to good a woman for me to to have. but I cant help it some times. but I tell you Ari, when you think of it, think also of the man and woman with the umbrella that we saw in the cars (this is nonsence.) when we got back to camp we found the boys all well. thay had been up to Suffolk to a little fight, but the negros done the fighting, so thay did not have to fight. give my regards to By & Han. I will write more next time for it is getting late and I must close. yours in love,
