Respected Parents.
At last when least expected we have received marching orders. they are to move to morrow Monday morning and as near as we can judge it will be for active service. Our destination is unknown as yet. I cant imagine where we shall go We are ordered to have 7 days rations, 3 cooked and 4 raw. I wish you could have come with Mr Ayer, he leaves us to day and will bring this letter to you How is your health? are you better? write me at the earliest possible moment after receiving this and direct as before until you hear from me. I have but little time to write as I am very busy to day

Give my love to all and accept that of your ever loving and affectionate son.

The love of—              Albert.

As soon as we arrive at our destination I will write you again. Love to all and God grant we may meet soon.

Love to Mother, Susan and Walter, and to Lewis & Prele
