Mt Carroll May 10^th 1861

 

Dear Brother & Sister

                                    Your letter should have been answered sooner but my time has been so much occupied attending to miliatary affairs that I could not find time to write we expected to be off a week ago so I thought I would put off writing 'till I got to my destination we are going to start to Freeport in the morning to stay there to await further orders I will write to you from there telling you my address when I will expect a letter from you.
