Dear Brother & Sister
I wrote you a few lines the morning after I got here but as there was no certainty sign of its getting to you I thought I would write again this morning tho I do not feel much like writing I am entirely out of heart. I do not see any signs of getting away from here but if I see any signs of getting away I'll turn up missing they have got me into a company here called Co F but all the duty they get out of me wont help them much. The report is that they expect an attack here but I hardly think there will be I think that as soon as the excitement is over here they will leave us go to our Regts they have got men here from all / the states tho very few from Ills, and by the looks of them they are as discontented as I am. my health keeps a great deal better than I expected eating the kind of fare that we have to eat. If you receive this let them know at home where I am as I can not write to all under the circumstances in which I am placed. But our dinner is ready so I must stop writing and go eat my dirty bite. Remember me to all enquireing Friends
Write soon
