Dear Brother & Sister
I have but a few spare moments this morning before going out to drill (as I am going to try drilling this morning) I thot I would write you a few lines I have been looking for a letter from you for several days. the last I have had was from Susan. I was over to New Albany yesterday to draw my pay as I was mustered in there. I will express some of it to you as soon as I can get to Louisville. I had a letter from Bohn Q.M. last week he says if I can get to the Regt I would have no trouble in getting my discharge they have left Memphis and gone to Bolivar Tenn. I have a chance now to get detailed on duty at the Hospital at New Albany either as cook or to be one / of the nurses. I do not know wether to go or not I would get $12 per month extra What would you do if in the case I have a desire to rejoin my Co since my health is improveing. I think I could stand it now if I had not much marching to do. the weather is getting very cool and pleasant. I am sorry that I disappointed that doctor in regard to getting his pay. just give him an order on Uncle Sam for me if you please. But I must close now as the drum is beating for drill I will write again in a few days Remember me to all enquireing friends My love to the Children Write soon as Ever
Your Brother George
