George B. Miles to Edwin Miles, 3 July 1865
Salem Monday Morning
July 3d 1865

Dear Brother
I should have written to you some time ago but I have been so busy I could scarcely find time to write. We are hurried with our corn dressing in order to get ready for harvest. I expect to begin next week some of my wheat looks splendid the other will not make more than a half of a crop Corn & oats promises to yield a large crop the apple crop promises to be a fair crop one I hope you will be able to get out this fall to help dispose of some of them. I am going to commence makeing hay this morning so you will have to excuse me from writing a long letter

I will enclose a bill of the cistern its caveing in added quite largely to the bill. I presume Father gave you the particulars when he wrote. Tell Susan that her letter came to hand on Saturday & will be answered soon. Ellen joins me in love to all as Ever your Brother

Geo B Miles
