To Mrs Geo B Miles and Family
             At a regular meeting of the Post held this date the following was unanimously approved
 
            To the Officers and Members of Abe Lincoln Post #29 GAR
            Our Old and Faithfull Past Post Commander Geo B Miles has answered his last call on earth and departed for the encampment above and is under the loving care of the Grand Commander of us all. his long sufferings are ended and
He Rests in Peace
A Comrade Brave a Comrade Dear
We must not grieve Our loss his gain
His good work done No foe he fears
He Rests from earthly toil and pain
 
Comrade Miles was a good citizen a brave soldier and a loving husband and father
 
            We sympathize with his loved ones in this their hour of great sorrow / and sincerely trust that the Great Author of our being will send the spirit of peace into aching hearts that will give them that calm submission to his will that is so necessary to us all in time of sorrow and bereavement—therefore be it
Resolved. That this token of our respect be spread upon the minutes of Abe Lincoln Post #29 GAR and a copy of same presented to the beloved wife and family of deceased and that the Charter of our Post be draped in mourning for 30 days
