Newport News Va.

Dear Sister Annie
I recvd your kind and interesting letter of Feb 21st and were happy to hear that you were all well and that Uncle Johns folks were to. How are they all in Griswold you never write any thing about them

I wrote my last letter from Baltimore. I went to see Mr Cummings as he was coming from home I met him there and he went on to Newport and sent me to Washington after some things that / we left last fall when we were there. I had not been there but a few minutes when I came across Amos. I went into the National Hotel to stay and he came up to me and spoke at first I did not know him the last man I thought of seeing there. That evening I found the runaway school teacher Chas Fisher from N.H. he was drunk when I found him and was with a lot of friends from Maine where he has been teaching. he said he had just come from Brooklyn and paid those bills /

Amos Kendall said father talked of buying Mr Clevelands what is he agoing to do sell the Hotel and move there or buy it for Mr C.C.

I recvd the box in good order and it was duly devoured. Many thanks.

I was very happy to receive the shirt from Mr Wilbur give him my thanks. I recvd the stockings and all.
I must close this as I write to mother
