Charles H. Butrick to (?) Burdick, 23 November 1869
Salem Nov. 23d 1869.
Friend Burdick
Dear Sir.
I received a letter dated the fifth of this month which from the writing I judge to be from you—there is no name signed to it—which requested me to send by return the money that you claim as the share for the relitives here to send you for the so said law suit.—as for myself I can say that I am not an interest relitive as there is no part thereof coming to me from that estate either way. I have written to you on the subject / only by request of part the relitives here which I wrote you in my first letter therefore I hope you will not expect any thing personaly from me. I have seen part of the relitives here and they wished me to say that they could not at present do any thing in the line of sending money—nor did they give any encouragement that they would hereafter.
I remain as ever your friend

P.S. If you wish any further
corresponding in relation to the mater
through me you can have it with pleasure but bear
in mind as afore said I am not an interest relitive
therefore I only write as I am ordered
