Jefferson B. Cralle
Jefferson B. Cralle was born around 1861 in Virginia to Mottrom and Frances Cralle. His father was a merchant who owned $1,000 of real estate and $500 of personal property by 1870. He grew up and attended school in Northumberland County, Virginia. By 1880, he was living with an uncle in Washington, D.C., and working as a clerk for a pension claims agency. He married Caroline Graham in Washington, D.C., on June 11, 1899, and their son Jefferson was born around 1902. By 1900, he was working as a lawyer. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in the early 1900s, and his wife died there in 1908. He returned to Washington, D.C., in the 1910s, and he died there on January 23, 1920.
