Henrietta Hawley
Henrietta Hawley (maiden name: Lattin) was born around 1834 in Vermont to Henry Lattin. Her father was a farmer. She grew up and attended school in Monkton, Vermont, and she married Amos Benton Hawley in the late 1850s. They had at least two children: Henry, born on September 6, 1860; and Mary, born around 1868. Her husband served in the Union army and was wounded in the Battle of the Wilderness on May 5, 1864. He returned to Vermont after the war. They moved to New Smyrna, Florida, in the 1870s, and her husband died there in 1892. She applied for a widow’s pension in August 1892 and eventually secured one. She died in New Smyrna on November 9, 1906.
