Emma C. Buel
Emily C. Buel was born on October 4, 1843, in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, to John and Sarah Buel. Her father was a schoolteacher. She grew up and attended school in Blair, Pennsylvania. She married Charles E. Laub on December 24, 1865, and they had at least three children: Laura, born around 1868; Guy, born around 1869; and Sarah, born around 1877.
 
They moved to Bryan in the Wyoming Territory in the late 1860s, and her husband worked as a locomotive machinist. They moved back to Altoona, Pennsylvania, in the 1870s, and by 1900, they were living in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Her husband died in 1901. She applied for a widow’s pension in December 1901 and eventually received one. By 1910, she was living in her daughter Laura’s household in Steamboat Springs. She died there in May 1925.
