George W. Whitaker
George W. Whitaker was born around 1810 in Maryland. He married a woman named Catherine, and they had at least four children: Charles, born around 1840; Josephine, born around 1843; George, born around 1846; and Ottowa, born around 1848. They lived in Arkansas until the mid-1840s, when they moved to Missouri. By 1850, they were living in Jefferson, Ohio, and Whitaker was working as a carpenter.
 
His wife died in the early 1850s, and he married Rebecca Watson (Fish) on June 16, 1853. They had at least four children: Rachel, born around 1854; Isaac, born around 1856; John, born around 1857; and Mary, born around 1859. By 1860, the family was living in Clear Creek, Indiana, and Whitaker owned $555 of personal property. He died sometime after 1880.
