Hannah Jane Cleaveland
Hannah Jane Fisher was born on June 30, 1847, in Freetown, Massachusetts, to Fisher A. Cleaveland and Jane Rounsevell. Her father was a carpenter. She grew up and attended school in Freetown, and she married Civil War veteran Seth H. Chace on March 20, 1868. They lived with her parents in Freetown, and she worked as a schoolteacher while her husband worked as a mariner. By 1870, they owned $1,000 of personal property.
 
Her husband died on May 5, 1871, and their son Seth was born that August. She married James I. Harper on August 16, 1877. He probably also worked as a mariner, and he died on a voyage in 1886. By 1900, she was living with her mother in Freetown. She applied for a widow’s pension in May 1905 and eventually secured one. She died of arteriosclerosis in Freetown on February 12, 1923.
