Again I am in my Quarters and again I am Counciling with you For my home my future prospects and all that is dear to me when far from home is before me That is you and little Pet it is not my intention to Be childish in this mater But I am glad that I have more Respect and esteem than Some marred men in this Regiment have who are at the theater evry night and in all kind of houses Drinking and carousing Spending all they earn. I have some faults but such are not the case with me—But all of this for what it is worth I came in from Picket and have washed and Cleaned up and calculculated to go to town for the first time since I got my maters aranged But I am to tiard and shall not go before tomorrow I am going down to get a lock on my trunk I traded my valiece and got a captured trunk taken at Corrinth My valiece was a poor thing and Did not hold half of my things the one I have got has ben a splendid one and when fixed up will not cost only about the same my valiece did for I got 2 dollars to Boot I have Ben sorry I did not Bring my trunk but when this is fixed it is beter/you will see by the way my hand trembles that I am tiard and I will lay down and sleep a while—
Well Cinda I have had a knapp and have ben issuing some clothing and fixing up and arangegeing the tent which is small for 3 Capt. R. has gone out to see the Pickets he is officer of the day Lt Cutter is gone out on Review on the fair Ground where we went Sunday with the Company and I am writing to finish this for the mornings male—The time flies very fast moreso than any time since I have ben in the service Our duty is light the weather is beautiful and and all goes of finely—Colonel Smith is as good as you please and they all say the Old head is sound I heard yesterday a compliment that it was said there wasent a man that done his duty with as little growling as I did My Mouth is geting beter and aside from that I feel as well as I ever did and if I could no you was all well I should be hapy let the case go as it might I should take no peace or comfort at home and I had much beter be hear But if My Papers come all the Beter but Just as they Please
Well Charles asks about the Celler havent you got my letter about/the drean I wrote all the Particulars and you must have it Before this I told him I wanted new Tile larger that the others the same size of Smiths and I want it Some 18 inches lower at the Outlet than the old one and 6 or 8 inches at the celler and a gradual Pitch and want it well done if atall and the Old tile Piled up in the Barn or Woodshed they will do for the lot when I get home I think it curious I also wrote you all about going East at least my Ideas in refference to the Mater and no doubt you have them But you make no mention of it in your letters Tell Charles his letter was short and sweet and I will be oblige to him for another and a little longer one Cards are all Plaid out none since I wrote you I look for a letter from you again tomorrow certain None to day You must Be careful of your health and dont get sick I am not going into any Particulars of maters for I told you and Charles all my wishes and gave all the advice I had to give if you have got it and I shall hear as soon as Bub gets so you can write I shall not worry for I no all that can be done will Be done for him/

I heard to day that owing to the Battle that Grant has had there is no nowing when our papers will come if they come at all and some says they have to go to Washington first But let them Rip
Friday morning Well Cinda it is another fine day I wish I new how you all was this morning But I think I shall hear to day the Boat is whisteling and we will soon have a male I have wrote all I can think of I believe if Charles Draws them tile or any thing of that kind let him get a harness where he does a horse and Be careful of the harness and I wish he would take it to Noff and have him Clean it and Oil it and then Put it where it will not get eat By the mice Write often as you can and tell me what is going on Potter wrote to Richardson yesterday I do not no the contense But he wanted his overcoat and some other things and said he had not got his things no more Most affectionate Geo
