If you intend to get a discharge to come home dont forget to let me know before any one else because as soon as you are discharged there is a judgement against William & you for $50.00 & interest already a waiting for you to get killed or discharged so that they may seize on your mortgage What is recorded as they cant get any thing from William because he has no more than the law alows him & he is cunning enough to be so for a long time I own nearly all that he has in form but what the law alows him so if you dont want to pay that note you had better let me hold you horses & mortgage in my name & than you will be all right they cant touch you but as long as you are a soldier they cant touch your Property according to law
Willie is looking at me very sharp to see me write to Joe he says he wants to see you very bad & wants to know if you seen christkingle
                                                                                                Yours Truely
