Dear Brother George
we received yours of the 22 of August last Saturday I was verry glad to hear from you I will try to write a few lines in reply near all sick I was taken last Sunday with cold chills & pain in the head back & chest I had the Dr Monday and am some better today Adelias is poor taken last nite with and was up all nite but is better this morning I hope we shall be better soon I have worked verry hard this summer I havent had but 18 days work in haying and harvest and have sawn the logs on a 10 aker follar since I got through the Drafting will commence in this county next week wednesday I am enroled and will be examined next week By Dr Maclon of
F John Cadding If they call me up to Duty and am Drafted I shal go and do the best I can Well George my back aked so I cant write so good By till you hear from me again
