Dear Brother I now Drop you a few lines to inform you that and tip and the boys from our settlement are well except John E. sappington has the measels. a bout thirty five of our company has the measels and mumps but we leave them at private houses Benny I have nothing of importance to write to you only we have a rough road to travel through the alegany mountains they are the highest I ever saw we have a bout 55 or 60 miles to go yet we are now waiting for provisions now we are now/amung the younion men now and provisions are verry scarce through this section of country well benny I have not my things that was put in that box yet we have had our measures taken for another uniform we will send them to Lagrange to be made I wish you all would see to mine for me the goods I dont no what sort it will bee though the thickest they can find the if some body in lagrang will get it I suppose well to change the subject we have caught up with a north carolina regiment here in our regiment they are a bout 350 down with the measels it will take about 5 days to go to floyd I dont think that we will stay/up here long I expect we will bee in a battle as soon as we get there or before well Benny I must close these lines as I am in a hurry I want to send it off direcly so good by give my love to all and receive a portion your self
