Dear Brother
I seat my self to Drop you a few lines though I have Just ritten to mary a bout my close Capt Long told us this morning that our uniforms would have to bee mad at home it is to bee mad of home made [?] grey my/measure is at Mr forbses for a frock coat and pants If the [?] that they have made is not grey & if they can convinientely make me a fl soot of the gray please get my measure from forbs for them or tell them to have it cut there if they cant conviniently I dont care much for I will have as much as I can carry/how I expect Benny I suppose that you all are a bout to get off to the cost we have a faint idea of geting down thare our selves if you get there I hope that we will to gether there Brown has ordered 3 regiments back to ga a gain I hope that we will bee one of them to go benny I havent got any news only we are at the muddyest/place I ever saw any where I ever saw any boddy live in we will leave here as soon as we get provisions to go three or four days general Lee is in command of wise and floyds brigades and says that he is a going to charlestown to take winter quarters but I think that we will go south benny tell John Moore to send word to his mother to make him the grey uniform
