                                 Camp Lea Mackey           June the 6th 62
 
My Dear sister I a gain the the 3 time seat my self to Drop you a few lines which will leaves us all in common health and inform you we have cooked a days provisions to have here to go some where I cant tell where yet I expect we will go to richmond va we are expecting get orders to leave every hour now if we Dont leave this evening we will leave to morrowe I would like vary much to hear from you all before I leave here Mary I have news to relate I am glad we are a going to get a way from the musquitoes and san flyes sure and where we can get better water to Drink we will soon go where we will have to fight for our country live or Dey for our country we must fight or we are gone our country will bee gone from us/
 
Mary uncle howell is here he got here Day before yester day morning he Does not speak of going back home yet he may go on with us where ever we go to see how we come out if we get in a fight well mary Im in a hurry I have to get reddy to start for our Journey I no news to write you you may tell bother if he has not got out of the notion of sending one not tell him not to send him for we can get along verry well without him he had better keep him at home he will more good there and we dont know what might become of him here with us the yankeys mite get him then he would bee gone well I must come to a close nothing more at present only I remain your Brother till Death
