i em brase this opportunity to write yo all how we ar geting a long, brother Jefferson I an John tip an Jo Moor ar well i hav taken a coal havig a rite lout caulf a lital hedacke well i hav no nuse to rite i reseved yare leter the da that we left Savanna a bout 10 minets before we got on cars i never the chans to read it untell I got on the cars an [?] for those things you told us to Send to brother ben i haven seen the shirt an te/bucket we lost it while we wair at mackes point afways before we left i sent a pair of pants and a cuverled by express they air at unkle lowelx me an tip an Jack wise an John camron we thought it wood be bes to Send them Stell no nuse to rite that is yore at tantion onley the death the death of Jaimes Chine he was killd by te cars a bout 15 or 20 milds from goldsburrow betwee there an wilmington he never die there but they stop/car an run back to whair he was he was an taken him up he lived a bout 2 2 hours both leg wair cut off his rite was mashed a good gash was cut in his hedd he was considerabley dir used up he was a Sleep on the end of the car we hd opon cars an wair croded war travling da an nite an we cudnot Sleep much so he was a Sleep an fell out So there was 3 cars rain over him nothing more at presant onley i re main S. Deare Sister it is with with pleasure that I seet my self to drop you a few lines and I dont now what to right to you Brother John has riten to you and so has brother S and I have not red either of thar letters so I dont now what they have riten to you if I had time I wod I dont want tell you somthing that both of them have told you I Am in va in the mountain right whare I did not want to be but I hope that I will be able to Stand what I will have to go through with Deare Sister I hant got paper to wrigt mutch I hav jest hard that we will have to leave to morrow morning for Jackson I well have to Close you must excuse me for doing better now if I live I will right you a long letter some time you must wright oftain to us TJ Hodnett
