July 30 the 31 to Mr Wiliam hodnett dear father
I seat my self to write yo a few lines to let you now that I am yet in the land of the living but not well at this time but knoeing about all the time I am at camp of instruct tion I went to town today to see cosen Tom but when I got there I fond that he had ben transferd to Roam Georgia as of June last ward master or steuard told me that he cold walk a bout and was a bout well I hope that you hav heard from him before this time father I saw Mr Ware to dey was glad to see him he also let me hav 10 Dolers I was not qite out I had a bout 5 Dolers he wold hav me take som money wel to chang I hav ent heard from him sense crum saw him at the river he sed that he was goan to his reg ment that was the last I hav heard from him I heard from brother Jef to dey he was at or a bout frunt royal/he has given out on the road I hope that he is som where that he may write to you all Soon an let you know how he is geting along at this time I hav now neus that wold enterest you all at this time I must close nothing mour at present
