Dear sister, it is again with sad hart, that I try to writ you afew lins which will inform you that our Dear Dear brother George is dead. Oh, sis, how can we bare it. he left the 11th day of March, and he died the 8th of this Inst. father received the dispatch to day. it did not state what was the matter with him nor whether they would bring him home or not, but I hope that they will. a letter has not had time to come yet. Oh the trouble we all are in, and his family. sister Mary Jane does take it so hard and hir poor children.
we are all up in common health except mother she is quite sick but keeps up some but the sad news that has reached us to day about our Dear brother I feare will make hur a great deal worse. Sis, we recieved your kind letter yesterday. Sis, if you could come just as soon as you recieved this we would be so glad, but if you cant father will send for you befor the funerel which will be preached the 2nd Sunday in May. I dont know what about our last deare brothers funerel. Oh, sis, I cant write/
Oh sis I cant write my hart is filled with trouble and my eys with tears. come if you can and stay as long as you can. sister, Lizz keeps up but not well, your company to us would do us good sister Lizzie and I wrote to you the 28th of March and told you that brother Johns funerel would be preached the 2nd sunday in may come if you can you can finish brother stephens cloths hear as well as thaire.
