Haralson Ga. March the 19th 1863
Dear Father Mother Brothers and Sisters, you doubtless are expecting me down thare by this time but I must inform you that I am still confined to the house cant go about any no I dont knoe any Idea how long I will be in this condition. about the time Sister Mary left here a gland comensed rising just a bove my left knee on the back part of my thy in hollow if my thy. this has given me considerable trouble and is still getting worse every day if it was not for this dificulty I think I could go down the first plesant spell of weather, but I am unfortunate and cant help it. so you need not loock for me until you see us cuming for I cant form any idea how long this dificulty will last/one thing cirtain I cant travail until it gets better, I am ancious to go as soon as I can an will do so. being confined to my room I have no news of coarse, these lines leaves my family well, all the relatives are in thair usual health so far as I know.

Sister Mary, I recon you would like to know how luesa came out she had good luck she did not loose any of her patients she has got through and is at Jim clarkes we was afraid for her to come home under a week/she hasent taken it I think we will get sixty or 75 dollars for her service you must write to us soon and let us know how you all are
