                  Dear Susan I take the pleasure of riten you a fu lins though I have hardly have time or not we have d so much duty to do This leaves me well thare is a litle sickness in the co now though thare is no veary bad cases J F Hoopper has somting like on to the shingles I am in hops that thes lins may find you and familey all well and all the conection
 
Susan I have ben thinking that I wold get a cheance to go home though the cheance is bad now we staid at home too long when we ware thare for us to get to go now by 2 days/if we had goten to our comands on the 6th of Oct we wold have had a chance though we never got thare un till the 8th so we ware 2 days too late though Brooks and Gray got thear Furlows before the order come to stop all that ware not at thear comands by that time I wold like veary well to get the chance to go home though if I canot get to go home I recon I can stay hear if I can onley have good health which I have had this fall and winter
 
Susan Cosen John Danieles is a goin to start home/in the morning and I thought of sending this by him and he is a goin to leave our Regiment now in a few minutes so I canot rite much and what I have riten you canot read for I have to rite in a heary I will send one by Mr Pearson when he goes  we are liven well now on the porvisons you sent me though I fear that we will have to leve hear before we eat them we are a haven some veary prety days now give My love to all and save good portion for your self yours Most truly            W.
