Susan I receved your leter to day of the 11th the first in a bout 4 weaks I read it with the gratest of pleasure Thes lins leaves me well Ben is complaining of the Tooth acke the companey is in veary good health I am in hops that this may find you all well
Susan I have rote so often Since I have heard from you I dont know what to rite and the one I reseve to day is so old though you rote that you had never goten the things I sent in G D Stuart Box and you did not no who G D was he is a Sun of Sirous W Stuart/
Well what next the Hogs you rote that you had now pigs yet I wish you to try an get B R to get the hog that I had to get home and swap him for a Sow if he can and do it as soon as he can I fear that you will loose stock of hogs and I wold like veary well to no the man that have the Shoat that I had turned if any one have her up I want the other one kild the next kiling
I am in hops that I will be at home be fore that time, the Solgers is nearley all leven this plais and we may have to leve too be forelong tha ar a goin to Mobeal I dont hear of the yankes a advancing on us any yet/I fear tha will when tha find that we have no men hear a hardley
Susan you wanted to no if I wanted any Close I recon that you had beter make me 2 Shearts and a pare of pants and 1 pare of Socks and make them as light as you can I want them for sumer I have a plenty to do untill warm weather Send them by Mr Welch so if I dont want them he can cary them back I expect to draw my close from the Govement if can get them and this will Soot me though them that we draw are veary Sorley maid and dont fit at all you rote as you thought that tha had/furlowen the men out of our regiment thare is some that was sick when we left home tha can go home and if we wold reinlist we cold get a 10 days furlow though I dont think tha will get me that way I no that I will have to stay untill the ware ends Susan I quit riten a bout Sun Set and I thougte the yankes was not a going to pester us hear though we got orders in 2 hours after that to be redey to move out a muinits warning it now a bout midnight we have ben cooking all night I have no Idey which way we will start we have nearley goten through with the rashons we got from home we will have to leave a bout half of the Froot we got and I dont know wheather we will ever get the meat that we have put in the wagons or not my mess have put a prety good pease in them I must close I have to write by an oak wood fire lite and you may no that is a poore lite Fare well for the presant
