Dear Susan I seat my self to write you a fu lins to let you no that I am well and I am in hops that tha may come to hand in due time and find you and family all well we have ben a in a fite and come out safe my self we had 1 man wonded in our companey that was S J Kidd we are now in our winter quarters a gain I reseaved your veary kind and afectionet leter you sent by Woodard read it with the gratest of pleasure you rote that you wanted to no what closen I wold want I recon that I will want 2 Shearts and 1 pare of Pants and 1 Pare of Drawers though make them as lite of goods as you can well I dont want too heavey closen to have to Pack for I canot cary them and I want a Pare of Suspenders that is all I beleave that I want you to send/
Susan I am veary glad that you have a Gurl to stay with you if she can be contented a way from home so long I reseaved a leter from Mary to day She writes that Mother have goten in the notion to sell out and wants to no my notion a bout it and I dont know what to say to it for if tha sell and get confedret bons I dont know whether tha will be any a cont or not as the money is a bout to fail if the children cold atend the sale it wold be the best to have it though I want them to do as tha think best if tha do have a sail I will try to get to go home then if I can see any chance at all and I can no when it will come of though I am in hops that this wicked ware will close be fore then and we all be at home to atend to our buisness/
Susan you rote that you thought that you new whare our hog was tha I turned out tel BR that I want him and you to go and see if she be yours and if so I want him to get her at home and put her in the wood lot and keep hear thare I am veary fearful that you will loos stock of hogs Well I dont no what more to rite we are a geting a long veary well now I think a bout all the trups have come back hear that lef we have a good meny men up hear I recon we can hold this plase untill the yankes comes a gain and then I dont no so well a bout it I fear the next time will not be as small a bisness as the last one. Thare is 2 of the boys that will start home in a day or too I recon tha how thear furlows started up and I recon tha will get them I write this evening for fear tha I will not have the time when thear furlows comes I will quit untill I see. the boys furlows have come all rite and tha will start this evening it is W T Mobley and T J Stuart I have nothing more new to write this morning I will Send some Envlops by the boys and I will tel them to get you another Pack as tha go on I havent meny at this time and thare is som at Dalton every thing was run of when the yankes come down the other day My love and best wishes to you and the children
