Dear Susan I seat my self to write you a fu lins I am well and I am in hops that tha may find you all well I recon that Capt Wright will start home in a fu days after closing for the co and the Genera talk is that we will start to Tenn to Morough and I have but litle time to rite now as it is nearley night & I have to get up some Wood for night you may send me my coat & Pants & 2 Pair of socks that will be a nuf I think as thare is a bad chance to get what you do send I wish that I had some money to send to you I fear that you are neading of money though we canot draw our money/
 
Susan you rote to me that Beney wanted to by the Comings plais if you can see or hear from all my Deters and tha will take the money you can sel it though if tha dont take it I dont want to sell for I dont want the mone and Land is the best Propertey that a man can own I think I am veary glad to hear that you maid as much corn as you did Take ceare of it now for fear that you dont maik any next year though I am in hops that you may have me thare to maik mor next year though I fear it will be like geting another Negrow to work it will be worth it to get it dun for I am too lazey to go to the spring after water I will close a kiss good by        W A Stephens
