Dear Susan I once more have the time and tak the the pleasure of writen you a fu lins to let you no whear I am and how I am geting a long I am well and doing as well as cold be expected with the chance and I am in a bout 21 1/2 of Nashvill Shurmishing with the yankes I am in hops that thes lins may reach you in dew time and fin you all well and doing well I will try to tel you somting of our trip hear we have had to do a heap of hard marching and veary short rashons when we landed at Columba we found the yankes thare we maneged to get them to cross the River with out charging them though we had to charge them be fore we cold make them leave the river the 46, 31, 23 Ala Regiments crost the river in one of the litle pontoon/

boats and found them under the banks of the river and then charged them and taken thear works tha then maid a stand at Franklen thare we we charged them a gain we lost a grait meny men thare our Divshon did not get thare in time to be in the ingaiged thare our kild thare was in be twixt 12 and 13 hundred the Enimeys was a bout 6 or 7 hundred we thear works was veary hard to taik thare our men had to go through a large level Plantation be fore geting to thear works and then the men had to help one over the works Oh I cold tel you so much more than I can tell you by riten I for got to tel you when the fites was the fite at Columbia was on the 29 at Franklen the 1 of De look for the 3 Paig/

Susan I was in hops that I wold get to go home this Winter though I have lost all hops now as we hav got so fare off now though if I dont get to go this winter I am in hops that I may live to see the time when I can go and then stay thare I do hope that this Ware will not last much longer though I see no stoping plais yet. I will tel you a litle a bout the weather it plesant now though cloudey we have had some veary cold weather thare was 2 day that it snoad on us though it did not lay on the grond long as the grond was veary weat though we have suferd a good eal with cold and I fear that we will have to sufer a heap more/

Tell Mother that I want to see hear veary bad and all the rest and if I canot get to see them I want to hear from them as often as I can Tell BR that I want to hear from him veary bad the last time I hearn from him he was sick I am in hops that he is well be fore now I have rote a bout all I no rite as Soon as you get this for I want to hear from you veary bad I do expect that it will be a good while be fore Cap Wright gets to us to give us the letes that he brings or I fear it will be. it is the opinion of the most of the men that the yankes will leave hear if tha do I guess that we will winter hear
