I write this in answer to yours of the 23rd which I received this evening on my return to camp after A 20 mile ride I am some what tired but my health was never better than it is now we came to this place last monday at noon and that night I went on picket guard and was not relieved untill wednesday noon then today which is thursday we have been off m on A Scout and tomorrow we march for Lebanon so you can see how much time I have to write I have been looking for a letter from you for/ some time I often think I would like to be back in wright some Cold nights to set by the fire the wath weather here is getting prety cold for to live out of dores and we have to sleep out of very often last Sundy night I slept out in the wood and it rained all night but I am getting used to it so I dont take cold and so I get along very well John is well and so is all the boys from wright except Daniel Wells and Stueed but it is getting late and I must close give my best respects to all my friends
