The undersigned members of Co G 13th Cav of Mo Vols being duly Sworn, on oath declare that the above mentioned articles were unavoidably lost or destroyed in the Month of October 1864 during the pursuit of the rebel General Price in Missouri, by reason of the abandonment of Horses, broken down, and the confusion and hardship of marching without rest or sleep for days in Succession during the pursuit of the rebel Army, and that the loss was of no fault of Capt Yates of this Company, who took every possible precaution to save said property; and that the greater part of the property was lost in the actions of Independence, Big Blue and Morais des Cygnes
