Amos F. Garrison II to John Kirby, 3 February 1862
                      Santa Fe N.M.
                                  February 3rd 1862

     Dear Brother
                                  All alive and well: by
this mail I send a prayer to you and Mr
Archer with the Proclamation of Governor
calling out all the Militia of the Territory,
seizing upon horses, mules, wagons, guns, pistols,
and everything in the fighting line and trans-
portation.    there was a rumor of the Texians
marching in force into the Territory but I don’t
believe a word of it, if there is any fighting to be
done, it is my opinion that our troops have
got to go to Texas to do it.

I just finished up my Cash Account
which amounts to the nice sum of $200,000.00
paid out this month.    Your Papers have been
received several times.    I am very much indebted for
them.    Excuse shortness and writing.

     My love to all     GoodBye
                                    Your Brother
                                       Amos F. Garrison
