Amos F. Garrison II to Harriet F. Kirby, 2 March 1862
Sante Fe N M Mar 2” 1862
1 o’clock Sunday night
Dear Sister
Excuse this scribble as my time
is pretty much occupied. the Capt has been
ordered away to Fort Wise. Col. T. on special duty so
all the business of the office rests on me. he will
be back in a week or two.
This is written at this late hour to let
you know everything is well, as I suppose some
of the rumours of the late battle which took place
about 180 miles from here might have reached you
Adios. Buenos noches
My love to all. kiss Nell & Kate for me
Your loving Brother
Amos F. Garrison, Jr
