Dear Sister
Are you all asleep. I have not receiv-
ed a letter from Jersey for near three months although
I have written several letters.    what is the matter-

Nothing new here but the gold fever.
Gold has been discovered from three to five hundred
miles from here in large quantities, equal to Califa.
they say.    I think probably I shall take a stock of
goods there as we have a very large stock on hand
and they must be sold to meet our payments.    We
have some sixty thousand dollars worth of goods on
hand.

Tell me what Gus and Henry are doing and
how-
                                    Your Brother in haste
