Dear Brother & Sister
Your kind letters
was rec’d two days ago, and I was
very glad to hear from you - I have
rec’d one Sunbeam and no more, that
was some two weeks ago, which I have
to return many thanks for, as it con-
tained many things interesting to me
even to the advertisements. it was com
-pletely devoured -
For coming home that
is impossible at present. Uncle Amos
cannot manage my business except at
great loss to me. he does not understand
the people or language, and my habits
are very expensive, and I cannot afford
the expense at present, as times are dull
and money scarce - as for the informa-
tion of George W. G. - it is entirely false.
I have never been in better health
I weigh today 177 pounds. that is not
very delicate. this climate agrees with
me. I have never have had anything but
very slight sickness since I came to it.
I am very nervous and will always
be so from the effects of the Quinine Blue
Mass and other powerful medicines
administered blindly while in Arizona
Please be particular and
remember me to Mr. Archer as I owe
him many thanks from other days.
if I thought he would answer me I
would write to him, but I wrote to
him at different intervals in the 10
years gone by 3 times without a single line
from him. please say this to him.
I am 31 years old tomorrow.
pretty old, but still I do not feel so,
as this is kind of a wild life, so
much have I become accustomed to
it that I am almost certain I
could never live in straight laced
Jersey, where they would not let me
give a good hallo once in awhile
without wanting to put me in Bedlam
You say nothing about Henry. I
always like to hear how all of you
are everytime you write as I miss
so many letters
Good Bye God bless you
all. Write often
Your Brother
