Dear Sister
                    We arrived Sunday
Morning.    We have met with
very good succes so far
We are going out with a nice
old friend of Uncle Amoses
he has been freighting across
the plains 33 years.    I bought
two horses and a linen top
wagon so we will have it
very comfortable the wagon
to sleep in.    I have been offered
$50. more for one of the horses
than I give and $10. more for
my wagon.    they are a pair
of very fine horses worth $500.00
a piece in Mexico.    I will give
you a description of my trip
when I get more time.    We
start next Thursday.    It is an
ox train 12 to each wagon.    We
have 25 men in our train
It will take from 45 to 50
days to cross the plains

The Indians is quiet on the
plains this spring.     I will
write as soon as I get there.
Good Bye until you
here from me again.
Give my love to all
                  From your brother
                                Guss
