Dear Mother
I thought I would let write a few lines as Henry was about to send a line to Ellen it is probable we Shall be caled into atcion be fore long now I do not know how long it maters little if the Lord is for us as I belilieve he is and he will make us victorious and caus the enimy to fly in dismay from before us. we will to go from here/tomorrow Nov 2nd
I like Uncle Sam fare better than t when we first came to Jamacia it was hard when we first came here we had not half enough to eat and had to work hard. we are now quite well drilled we look mor like soldiers. we are quite well there has not benn but very little sickness in camp tell Min I will write as soon as we are settled remember me to all the Waterbury folks I must close from your son
