                        Dear Mother
 
                                                            David received a letter from you last night and I thought I would try and answer it my head is getting along very well sence I came home I have a 30 day furlow Min is not very well it is her old complaint David works very hard if I was well I could help them some but I have not much strength yet. the garden suffers very much for want of rain Mrs Nelsons folks are all well Ellen Nelson was over here last night Charlott was here last night to see me she was well I think I shall go to Rockville next/week and see the folks. Henry was well when I got my furlow that was the 18th I have not heard from him since We have very hot and dry weather here the Crops is all dieing for want of rain. it looks some like rain now. Tell Phebe not to think hard of me for not writeing to her she would not blame me if she knew how I have been I do not know if I shall come out to N.J. or not but if I am well enough I shall come give my love to all the folks I may see them before I go back pleas excuse me for this time
